Inaprubahan ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Board of Directors ang pagsama ng dental services sa kanilang healthcare benefit packages.
Kabilang sa mga serbisyong isasama ay mouth examination o oral screening, dental prophylaxis o cleaning, at fluoride varnish applications.
Sakop din ng PhilHealth ang fissure sealants, Class V procedures, emergency tooth extractions, at dental consultations.
Ayon kay Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa, dapat kasama sa universal health ang oral healthcare.
Sa ilalim ng health package, inaprubahan ng PhilHealth ang maximum payment na P1,000 per patient para sa preventive oral health services.
– P300 para sa unang bisita, sakop ang mouth examination / oral screening, oral prophylaxis (cleaning), at flouride varnish application
– P300 para sa pangalawang bisita sa pagitan ng apat na buwan mula ng unang bisita, para sa kaparehas na serbisyo.
– P200 per tooth (maximum of two teeth kada taon) para sa pit at fissure sealant o Class V procedure.
Ang co-payments ay ipagbabawal para sa public dentist, habang ang mga pribadong dentista ay pinapayagan ang co-payment charges per visit na P1,500 para sa mouth examination at oral prophylaxis, P600 para sa fit and fissure sealant o Class V procedure; at P600 para sa emergency tooth extraction.
