Inamiyendahan ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) ang education requirements para sa first-level positions sa pamahalaan.
Ito ay upang makwalipikang makapagtrabaho sa gobyerno ang mga graduates sa ilalim ng K-to-12 Basic Education Program.
Sa ilalim ng CSC Resolution No. 2500229, nirerebisa nito ang educational requirements bilang tugon sa mga pagbabago sa national education system.
Dito ay kinikilala ang Junior High School (Grade 10) at Senior High School (Grade 12) graduates sa ilalim ng K to 12 curriculum na eligible para sa first-level government positions.
Kabilang sa Key Amendments:
• From: High School Graduate
To: High School Graduate (prior to 2016) or Completion of Grade 10/Junior High School (starting 2016);
• From: High School Graduate or Completion of relevant vocational/trade course
To: High School Graduate (prior to 2016), or Completion of Grade 10/Junior High School (starting 2016), or Completion of relevant vocational/trade course;
• From: Completion of two years of college
To: Completion of 2 years of college (prior to 2018), or Completion of Grade 12/Senior High School (starting 2016); and
• From: Completion of two years of college or High School Graduate with relevant vocational/trade course
To: Completion of 2 years of college (prior to 2018), or High School Graduate with relevant vocational/trade course (prior to 2018), or Completion of Grade 12/Senior High School under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track, or Completion of Grade 10/Junior High School with relevant vocational/trade course (TESDA NC II) (starting 2018)
Ang mga first level positions ay may kinalaman sa clerical, trade, craft, custodial, o iba pang sub-professional work sa supervisory at non-supervisory roles.
Ang pagrebisa sa education standards ay hindi ipinapatupad sa mga posisyon na nangangailangan ng mataas na education degrees o mga propesyong regulated ng board laws.
Ayon sa CSC, layunin nito na mapalawak ang oportunidad para sa mga kabataan na sumali sa civil service.
Gayumpaman, binigyang diin ng ahensya na ang mga aplikante ay kailangan pa ring maabot ang iba pang qualification requirements ng mga posisyon, tulad ng training, experience, at eligibility.
